MR. LUCCI
The magnetic Southern rapper, Mr. Lucci, aka Lu Diamond, made his mark on the music industry at the age of sixteen back in 1999 featured on the hit single, “Crook for Life”, off of Mr. Pookie’s, “The Rippla” album that sold nearly 100,000 copies. The Texas born and raised entertainer, born Jeron Gibson, achieved obtaining a major record deal with Warner Bros. Records back in his teens. The son of a preacher grew to become a momentous favorite on the underground music scene. Known for his distinctive voice and prolific output of hits that followed, Mr. Lucci dropped his solo album and single “Diabolical” back in 2001. Mr. Lucci and Mr. Pookie, met in a studio and from there the rest is history with their music and label, Stoney Crook Records. They have been compared to the D-Town version of Pimp C and Bun B.
STUBB-A-LEAN
Something like an urban legend, rapper Stubb-a-Lean, is a true tale of a street cat whose life’s journey made a sharp right turn on the path of superstardom, smack dab in the center of the rap game. Once known as the man behind the music, Texas born rapper, Anthony Stubblefield’s, destiny was inevitable to shine and become an entertainer. “I was always connected to people in the music business”, he says.
Around the city of Dallas, Texas, Stubb-a-Lean was known for his deep distinctive voice and hot raps. His popularity also grew immensely on the music scene with his Addiktion t-shirt clothing line. Soon, some of the city’s most well-known rappers were wearing his clothes and seeking him out to be featured on their tracks. Stubb-a-Lean has worked with some of his city’s most popular artist, such as Kottonmouth, Mr. Lucci and Doughski, just to name a few. His passion and knowledge of the music business continued to flourish being the road manager for Lil Will, who’s single, “My Dougie”, became a world-wide dance craze. “I learned a great deal from that experience being on the road with Lil Will. Music was an entire new hustle for me”, says the former college basketball star. He’s applying those same leadership characteristics that he possessed on the court to his music career.
CLASSIK
Classik has a sound so diverse, that it can not be bound by any certain genre. Classik brings a mixture of Pop, R&B, Alternative, Blues, Soul, Urban and Funk to the music culture of today, being groomed by the music culture of yesterday. His career influences are inspired heavenly by the likes of the late great Michael Jackson, Al Green, Sam Cooke, Earth Wind & Fire, 3 Doors Down, MacDre, Ice Cube & many more. It’s easy to see why Classik has something for everyone. Classik is a talented vocalist in his own right, singing soprano to tenor on the vocal scale, but he is much more than that, Even though he’s in his early twenties, Classik also arranges, produces, writes in addition to recording his own music. He also founded his own company in 2007 called ClassikMussik, but more recently was signed by Dallas’ rap legend, Mr. Lucci, and his protégé Stubb-a-Lean to their new label, Star City Records and Entertainment
